The Dogs of BlogPaws

Some people might think that the hotel where BlogPaws is held has gone to the dogs. Well, is that such a bad thing? On the elevator the first night, I heard a businessman complaining that he had never seen so many dogs in a hotel before. He didn’t seem amused. I hate it for him, but I for one enjoy a conference where dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and ferrets are welcome.

Cats were unfortunately underrepresented during BlogPaws 2013, but I’ll chalk that up to the fact that most prefer not to travel. I considered bringing one of mine, but I couldn’t think of anyone who would be willing to travel with me. Christabelle gets carsick and howls, Stryker is a Houdini when it comes to escaping from carriers, Snowbird has severe social anxiety, and Spike only likes to travel when Staind is playing. None of those seemed like a good travelling companion, so I just enjoyed other people’s pets for the weekend.

Here’s a sample of the dogs I met (don’t worry cats will have their own post):

Carma Poodale was the first dog I met at BlogPaws.

I also got to meet Charles "The Lion." Several months ago, he scared his neighbors into thinking there was a lion cub loose in the neighborhood, but it was just Charles and his unique hair-do.

Such a handsome boy!

This pretty Shih Tzu from K9 Carry All reminded me of my mom's dog Lily, so I had to stop by often for puppy cuddles.

Rocco the Havanese was such a good boy. He was among the first dogs I got acquainted with.

After a long weekend of fun and excitement, even the best dressed poodle can be tired.
